If you've ever had an in-season mango, you'll understand why it's known as the king of fruits in South Asian culture. Juicy, sometimes creamy, at times floral, and always perfectly sweet when ripe, it grows in a seemingly endless list of varietals and can handily be employed in both sweet and savoury dishes.

May and June are typically the height of mango season, so now's the time to put them to use. Here are our best sweet and savoury dishes featuring this tropical fruit.
