Mango-Ginger Gin Sling

A mango-ginger gin sling cocktail served with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint

A refreshing cocktail that can easily be made boozy or not is perfect for gatherings with kids and those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks.

Ginger Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup sliced ginger

Ingredients

  • 2 oz mango juice

  • 1 oz gin, optional

  • 1/2 oz ginger syrup

  • Squeeze of lime or lemon juice

  • Soda water, tonic or ginger ale

  • Sprig of mint, for garnish, optional

  • Lime or lemon wedge, for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Ginger Syrup: Combine sugar with ginger and 1 cup water in a small saucepan set over medium. Simmer for 2 min, then remove from heat. Let syrup cool, then strain and refrigerate until ready to use.

  • Mix mango juice with gin, ginger syrup, lime juice and a handful of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake, then strain into a glass filled with ice. Top with soda water. Garnish with mint and a lime wedge.
