I was mesmerized by the colours in this salad: the pale pink and white crab meat beside the pale green cucumber and avocado slices. I had visions of a garden party with girls in pretty dresses and ladies in large-brimmed sun hats. And of a rosy gingham-clad picnic table filled only with foods that were white, pink and green.
