Our cooking skills got drastically better last week. We had a visit from Molly and Andrew of Sharp My Knife, a mobile knife sharpening business. They have rejuvenated our collection of Kitchen knives, and has it ever made a difference – prepping is easier, faster and more fun.

It’s the first day of December and you know what that means – the start of holiday parties and the countdown for gift shopping begins! Chatelaine has designed some budget-friendly homemade gifts to make your holiday gift giving a little more special this year.

Our associate food editor, Lyn, loves to bake and spends many a weekend baking up a storm. In fact, it’s not unusual for her to bake a couple loaves of fresh bread on a Saturday (and also not unusual for her family to eat most of it then, too)

The Allan Candy Company sent us boxes and boxes of candy canes for the holidays! We took the opportunity to try out a few candy cane recipes. Tell us about your favourite sweet holiday treats to win a candy cane prize pack.
