So, as I mentioned quickly last week, I did start the new clinical trial. It consists of two drugs. There is a low dose, daily, oral chemo called cyclophosphamide that everyone takes. Then, there is a second drug that is randomized. Only half the people on the trial get the drug. It is Abbott's version of the PARP inhibitor. It is completely randomized. Yay me! I got the PARP inhibitor!

Tonight, our community manager for It's Time To Shout, Rachel Fine, hosted a fundraiser where she cut off all her hair for locks of love. She used this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research.

The mind-body connection is something that many people speak about, but now it seems that science is jumping on the band wagon. Maintaining a positive outlook, being optimistic about the future, enjoying the small things and going about your day with a smile are both our natural state and a healthier state. Let's all find our silver lining and enjoy the moments that make us smile.

So, no video this week because once again, I got sick. I had a wicked flu on Monday night that had me violently ill throughout the night. It took me a couple of days to recover from that. Not the best way to start the week, especially after suffering a series of migraines last week, including one on my birthday last Tuesday, the 10th.

Onwards and upwards...one clinical trial didn't work, and so we move on to the next.
