Get your tissues ready: sad girl summer is officially in session.
Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers has announced her return to music with a new album, Lost Weekend, set to release on August 14.
The artist shared the news on Instagram, posting the album artwork and even confirming that fellow phantoms won’t have to wait long for a taste of her new music. The record’s first single arrives on June 25 (cue the collective screaming).
The album marks Bridgers’ first major solo release in six years, following 2020’s Punisher—the record that transformed her from indie darling into critically acclaimed songwriter. She’s been booked and busy since then, touring with supergroup boygenius and starring in the forthcoming feature film Primetime alongside Robert Pattinson.
Lost Weekend arrives just ahead of her upcoming Lost Tour, which is expected to bring the star back to stages around the world, including Toronto and Vancouver in October.
If Bridgers’ track record is anything to go by, we’d recommend keeping your headphones charged and your therapist on speed dial.
Phoebe, we’ve been lost without you.
