We all remember that scene in Ghost, right?
Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, a pottery wheel and enough burning chemistry to make an entire generation look at a lump of clay and think: Wait… is this hot?
Now, an Ontario pottery studio is hoping to bottle a little of that same magic with a very 2026 twist: an OnlyFans account.
The Hill Potters Guild has launched “Ceramics Are Sexy,” a new campaign designed to introduce a younger generation to pottery by embracing what ceramicists have apparently known all along: working with clay is not just creative, it’s sensual.
The Guild’s OnlyFans page features pottery tutorials filmed with moody lighting, lingering close-ups and slow-motion hand shots—all the steamy visual cues you might expect from the platform, just focused firmly on the tactile craft of ceramics.
“It’s a bit cheeky,” says Guild member Kathy Verbeek-Chawrun, who admits the idea initially caught her off guard. “I never even knew what OnlyFans was all about.”
The campaign was developed as a way to help the 50-year-old community reach younger generations who might never have considered signing up for a class. While the marketing may wink at the ’90s fantasy, Verbeek-Chawrun says the art itself always came first.
“We didn’t want [to film] somebody just because they looked good,” she says. “They had to know how to do pottery. They had to know how to throw.”
Beyond the bold campaign, Verbeek-Chawrun hopes people discover what has kept her coming back to clay for years: the chance to slow down, disconnect and focus on something tangible.
“It is one of the best ways to decompress,” she says. “Take your phone away and just enjoy the clay.”
So yes, Ghost made pottery sexy. But the Hill Potters Guild is proving there’s more to the wheel than a steamy Hollywood moment. Sometimes the real thrill starts with just getting your hands dirty.
