Olivia Rodrigo is proving she’s the ultimate girl’s girl. The singer-songwriter announced this week that she’s launching Daisy Chain Fields, a new women-led music festival set to take over Great Park in Irvine, California on August 29.
“I’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and I am so ecstatic it’s finally coming true!” Rodrigo shared on Instagram.
The lineup is packed with talent spanning generations and genres. Alongside the SOUR star, performers include Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Katseye, Bikini Kill, Garbage, The Breeders and more.
Special guests will also include rock icon Stevie Nicks, Yeah Yeah Yeahs front-woman Karen O and Canada’s very own Sarah McLachlan.
McLachlan’s appearance in particular feels full-circle: As founder of the iconic women-staring Lilith Fair, her inclusion gives the festival a subtle passing-of-the-torch moment between generations of female artists.
Rodrigo described Daisy Chain Fields as a show "founded on the belief that joy, community and creativity can inspire meaningful change.” The event will donate 100 percent of its proceeds to organizations that support and advocate for women and girls.
In other words, Olivia Rodrigo looked at our Spotify Wrapped and decided to make it a real place. Good 4 U, Olivia.
