Grab your hat: Canada’s favourite wandering dog is officially making a comeback—this time on Crave. More than 40 years after The Littlest Hobo left the airwaves, the beloved series is getting a reboot from west-coast duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
For anyone who grew up humming or crying to Terry Bush’s iconic theme song (shoutout to our EIC, Maureen Halushak), the nostalgia is already kicking in. The original series followed a clever German shepherd who travelled lightly from town to town helping strangers, before quietly trotting away to his next adventure. Think Superman, but with four legs and significantly more fur.
Rogen and Goldberg, who grew up in Vancouver during the show’s original CTV run, called the series a “foundational” part of their childhood.
“We are thrilled to have the honour of bringing it back for a new generation alongside our partners at Crave,“ the pair said in a Bell Media statement.
The duo also reassured fans that one important detail isn’t changing: the hobo is still very much little.
“We promise big things to come. That doesn’t mean the dog will be huge like Clifford. The hobo will still be little. But the adventures will be big.”
A release date and the soon-to-be four-legged star have yet to be announced. Until then, all we can do is wait for tomorrow.
