My wife is not a morning person. Neither is my daughter. Well, for the first 30 minutes or so, then they’re okay.

One of the reasons we so covet happiness is that it makes us feel great. It can be a tough feeling to nail down, and it can range from a grounded sense of gratitude to a light-headed awareness of life's many pleasures.

When I started this project a year ago, I was excited….I get enthusiastic about sinking my teeth into any big topic, learning and writing as I go. But happiness? What could I write about that three times a week? And what do I know about happiness?

It’s been a year since the Chatelaine.com website re-launch; it’s been a good year. But not all of it has been good, because this was the year that fitness lots its one true guru: Jack LaLanne. And yet in his passing we remembered what is important about leading a healthy lifestyle. And this leads me to believe there is hope for the future of health and fitness.

Much of the recent focus on the sexually transmitted HPV (human papillomavirus) has explored the connection between the virus, intercourse and cervical cancer. Hence, the big push on vaccinating younger women (mostly with Gardasil) wherever possible.
