It’s finally hot and sunny with just the right amount of breeze outside! I love the sun, water, summer dresses, wide-brim sun hats, sandals…but, when it comes to bathing suits, it is the part of summer shopping that I dread most (but with pools set to open in the GTA on June 18, the pressure was on).

Europe is currently in the grips of an outbreak of E. coli larger than the continent has ever seen. The outbreak is centered in Hamburg, Germany and began in May, but has since spread to eight European countries, making over 1,500 people sick. So far there are 16 confirmed deaths tied to the outbreak.

People concerned about childhood obesity often point a finger at fast-food restaurants for using fun to make their food more appealing to children, from cartoon characters to toy giveaways and restaurants that look like playgrounds. In one example of this, staffers at the School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center signed a petition asking McDonalds to retire their Ronald McDonald character, and other health experts concurred. But according to McDonalds, the clown isn’t going anywhere.
