One of my best male friends recently called me because he found out that his wife’s best friend was cheating on her husband, his friend. He asked me: “Should I tell him?” and “If I do, how and when?” — he even asked where to break the news, if he was going to do it.

I’m a believer in sending thank you emails. It's so easy to do. I also love getting thank you cards in the mail. It's nice when people take the time to write a thank you note on stationary – writing with a pen on paper and using actual hand movements that don’t involve typing.

One of my best friends is leaving me for the summer. This makes me very sad. I hate to admit it, but I’m also jealous of her. I hate being jealous of friends. I feel that not being happy for your friends is a bad character trait, so I can’t believe that I feel this way now. But my best friend is leaving me – for overnight camp.

We all have regrets. I have one that I can see right now as I sit cross-legged in my chair. The tattoo on my ankle is a daily painful reminder of how stupid I was. Having a tattoo that you hate is a constant reminder of a time when you did something dumb. When my daughter was young, I used to tell her the tattoo was a band-aid. But somewhere over the years she got smart and said, “Mommy, your band-aid isn’t coming off!”

The other night, I had a major sob fest…in front of my boyfriend. This was the first time in our 7-month plus relationship that I bawled uncontrollably in front of him.
