Once, during a radio show promotion for our children’s book The Mischievous Mom At The Art Gallery, me and my co-author Erica Ehm were asked “What do you think is the depth of despair?”

A friend recently told me a story about one of her colleagues, who has been with her boyfriend for ten years, and has lived with him for three. Her boyfriend works at an investment firm, and this colleague of my friend’s never cared about his salary, until recently.

I still experience peer pressure, which is ridiculous at my age. At this point in my life, I should be talking to my daughter about peer pressure, not living with it myself.

I don’t consider myself a workaholic. I can’t be, because I’m not working all the time. However, I am thinking about work a lot of the time, which is pretty exhausting.
