BBQ

It was a night that called for a big salad: we were just coming down from the high of mini-sous chef’s 4th birthday party extravaganza (read: food smorgasbord), and sticky pink icing was practically oozing from our pores.

It's Friday night, pizza night! I’m always looking for easy barbeque ideas. For one, it’s the perfect way to stay out of the kitchen and away from the (hot) stove in the summer, and two, chef-in-training is in charge of the BBQ

With only one week to go until Labour Day weekend, we’ve been firing up the BBQ as often as possible and the most recent recipe to hit our grill was from Chatelaine’s Summer Cookbook’s "The Perfect Burger."

This would make a great addition to a BBQ or picnic, as it’s delicious served either hot or cold. And depending on your preferences, you could easily swap veggies (for example, I’m not a huge eggplant fan, so I cut it back and added more zucchini). I’m certain this salad will hit our BBQ at least a few more times before we close it up for the season

There's nothing better than a homemade burger, fresh off the BBQ. Now I know there are those who barbeque year round, but we’re more fair-weather griller. Which is why when spring hits, we clean the grill and I hunt for a few new burger recipes
