Oscar night menus: Five movie-inspired dinners

From Paris of the 1800s to the American Antebellum South and from India to Northern Canada, we found recipe inspiration in the settings of these nominated films.

For this Sunday night's Oscar party, we say skip the popcorn and cook up a feast really worthy of an Academy Award. Inspired by the list of best picture nominees, we created five menus based on some of our favourite films from the past year.

Take a culinary trip through Paris of the 1800s with a classic French menu complete with a stew, baguette, red wine and - of course -  macarons for dessert.
