Rum And Coke Sour Cocktail

Chatelaine Triple Tested

Five o’clocktail: This twisted classic was created by Trevor Burnett of former Toronto bar Ritz Carlton Deq Lounge.

Ingredients

  • 355-mL can cola

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 tbsp Bacardi Oakheart rum

  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice

  • 1 egg white

Instructions

  • Make syrup by bringing Coke and sugar to a boil on high. Boil until reduced to 1/2 cup, about 20 min. Let cool.

  • Add 2 tbsp Coke syrup, Bacardi, lime juice and egg white to a shaker. Cover and shake for 10 sec. Add a handful of ice and shake vigorously for another 20 sec

  • Pour mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a rocks glass.
