From a refreshing summer drink, to a new knife set and a hack on a classic Canadian doughnut — these are the things that have our team buzzing right now.

Doughnut do-over

Hacking a Canadian classic isn't a task we take lightly, but we insisted on perfecting the Dutchie at home! We started with a sweet yeast dough and stirred in some raisins. Cut simply into iconic squares, then deep-fried, the dough is impossibly fluffy and rich without being too sweet. A light glaze completes the magic.

A sharper edge

What meat lover wouldn't want a set of these beautiful, wonderfully sharp steak knives? Designed by New York chef Daniel Humm to be simple, precise and locally sourced, they are the perfect accessory for barbecue season and a lovely Father's Day splurge gift for the dad in your life.

Stunning (and strong) tools Our blenders are busy year-round but never more so than during our important summer cocktail season. This new blender is one of the most powerful we've ever tried, and the easiest to clean! Plus, it looks so good you can leave it (conveniently) right on the counter. Daiquiris anyone?

Getting more greens

A great dressing makes or breaks a salad, and it's easy to get bored of the same old vinaigrette day in and day out. Louise Pickford's new book, The Perfectly Dressed Salad, is filled with mouth-watering recipes like Key West Mango and Lime and Coriander and Toasted Sesame. It has us tossing together big bowls of greens every day of the week.

Easy summer drinking

We love Stiegl's delicious blend of 40 percent beer and 60 percent grapefruit juice. It's the most refreshing sunny patio drink we know, and it's low alcohol content (just 2 percent) means we can enjoy it all afternoon without getting too woozy.
