1. Fa-la-la it up!

Grab your next-door neighbours, travel mugs of cocoa and printouts of some classic carols. Serenade the 'hood and spread some good!

2. Throw an ugly sweater party

Gather friends for a fun, informal evening and make it a stress-free potluck. Have everyone play DJ by bringing their own holiday mix.

3. Light it up

Be merry and bright (and enjoy some free holiday entertainment) when your province's capital flips the switch on December 3 for Christmas Lights across Canada. Each city hosts a lighting ceremony with thousands of festive lights.

4. Unplug & unwind

When you get home tonight, turn off your smartphone and stop checking emails. Instead, go for an evening stroll and check out the neighbours' decorative displays.

5. Decorate together

Get the gang together for a fun afternoon of decking the halls from top to bottom. Start with a hunt for the perfect tree—and choose fresh over fake to support local farmers.
