For me, a sense of mortality suddenly kicked in a few years ago in my late 20s, when I realized that almost everyone on television was now at least five years my junior. I figured it was just one short, untelevised slide into the grave from there.

A recent visit to Toronto's Glow medi-spa, run by Dr. Diane Wong, MD, not only opened my eyes to the incredible advances being made in technology, but also worried me when I learned about the lack of regulations surrounding some of these procedures.

As cancer researchers continue to seek not only the cure for the affliction, but also for its very cause, others continue to look for preventive strategies that may preserve overall health, or at the very least delay the risk of falling victim to illness and disease.
