Having a skincare routine didn't use to feel like a job. But let's be honest—investing some time and energy into improving the appearance of your skin can pay off.

And opportunities for making that investment are multiplying, fast. For fans of new tech and beauty tools, there's some good news: Swedish skincare favourite Foreo is now easier than ever to find in Canada. The Stockholm-based company’s innovative skin and haircare devices will be available at more than 100 Chatters hair salon locations across Canada as well as on their website, which has become a bona fide beauty shopping destination in recent years.

Foreo, which uses a range of technologies from infrared to microcurrent to LED in its line-up of devices is something of a one-stop beauty tech shop. The brand offers everything from pulsating facial cleansing devices  to anti-aging LED masks to palm-sized massagers that lift and tone the muscles of the face to define its contours through microcurrent technology.

Previously, Canadians could purchase Foreo from the brand's own website as well as Holt Renfrew, Amazon, Well.ca and Shoppers Drug Mart. The partnership with Chatters means the brand is extending its brick-and-mortar presence and becoming more broadly available online.

Chatters will also carry a small selection of Foreo skin and haircare products, including its Scalp Recovery & Thick Hair Probiotic Serum and UFO face masks.

Wondering what to try first? Here are two gadgets that earned Team Chatelaine’s seal of approval.

Foreo Luna 4 Play Facial Cleansing Brush, $89

“I’ve been using various models of this small, rechargeable and travel-friendly cleansing facial brush on and off for years. If you’re familiar with Clarisonic—the hard-bristled brush that was all the rage in the late 2000s and early 2010s—it’s in the same vein but a lot gentler on skin and also more hygienic thanks to the easy-to-clean silicone bristles. Does using a cleansing brush really make a difference? The pros say no, but it does feel amazing paired with a luxurious creamy cleanser after a long, sweaty day.” —Andréanne Dion, senior beauty, style and travel editor

Foreo UFO 3 Go Facial Device, $89

“I haven’t tried the more affordable iteration of this gadget, but I swear by the UFO 2, a high-tech beauty tool that blends skincare, thermo and cryo therapy, LED light and sonic pulsations to supercharge serum application. It’s a little fussy—you need an app to program your sessions and Foreo-branded skincare-infused pads to unlock access—but it’s a fun ritual and my skin always feels amazing after a hot-and-cold session. This smaller version doesn't have a cryotherapy option, but for the price difference (the OG will run you $269), it’s worth a try!” —A.D.
