If you're looking for ways to beat the heat wave, may we suggest some retail therapy? From a summer makeup hack to a do-it-all gardening tool to the perfect swimsuit, here’s what we got us through the hottest days of the month.

Saltyface Freckle Paint, $30

A tube of Saltyface Freckle Paint for an article about the best purchases our editors made in June 2026.

“I wasn't blessed with natural freckles, but I have the perfect summer makeup hack to make my complexion look fresher in the heat: I paint them on every morning with this wash-off makeup formula by Vancouver-based tanning brand Saltyface. I've tried many variations of faux freckles over the years, from pens to stamps to tints, and this one is by far the easiest format to work with. The fine-tipped brush, liquid formula make it easy to apply, and the sheer light brown shade doesn't lean orange or muddy so it looks completely natural. My pro tip? Use the pad of your finger to blend—and then blend, and blend, and blend some more.” —Andréanne Dion, senior style, beauty and travel editor

La Vie en Rose Lisa Crossed One-Piece Swimsuit, $80

“This stunning green suit from the Montreal-based brand may just be the most flattering one-piece I've ever worn. It fits true-to-size, I love the colour—but there are four others to choose from if green isn't your thing—and the price is right.” —Maureen Halushak, editor-in-chief

Nisaku Hori Hori Garden Knife, $37

“If I could only pick one gardening tool, it would be this hori hori garden knife. It combines the functions of a trowel and a serrated knife, making it incredibly versatile for digging, weeding, cutting through roots and dividing perennials. I've gifted this tool to several fellow gardeners over the years, and every one of them swears by it. I used mine just this past weekend to slice through the roots of a root-bound plant before transplanting it. After using a tool like this, it's hard to imagine gardening without it.” —Sun Ngo, creative director

VHBW Cordless Toothbrush Charger, $18

“I recently moved from an apartment, which had a sprawling double-sink vanity in the bathroom, to my first home, which has an ensuite bathroom with the tiniest sink and no counter space. I can't stand clutter, especially when I'm getting ready in the morning, so this outlet-mounted electric toothbrush charger has made a huge difference. No more cords dangling off the side of my sink or getting caught in my vanity drawers! I love affordable little products that make your life better, and for $15, this is one of them.” —Erica Lenti, executive editor

Summer Fridays Bronzer Butter Balm, $44

A Summer Fridays bronzer for an article about the best purchases our editors made in June 2026.

“I've tried my fair share of bronzers, but this one has earned a permanent spot in my makeup bag. Its creamy texture melts beautifully into the skin. As a pale girlie, I love that it gives a natural, sun-kissed glow without looking like a spray tan gone wrong. It makes my morning routine quick and effortless!” —Sarah Bauly, assistant editor

Dynamite Rowan Mid Rise Baggy Wide Leg Jeans, $40 (50% off)

A model wearing a pair of jeans from Dynamite for an article about the best purchases our editors made in June 2026.

“Back in April, I attended a Dynamite pop-up celebrating the launch of its spring collection and got to take home a few of my favourite pieces—including these wide-leg jeans. I usually gravitate toward more fitted clothing, but I've been trying to branch out and experiment with different silhouettes. Although these jeans are intentionally relaxed, the mid-rise waist and wide leg create a surprisingly flattering shape.

They're also incredibly comfortable. The loose fit feels airy in a way that skinny jeans simply don't, making them my go-to in the warmer months. I've worn them with a T-shirt or tank on weekends, paired them with a blazer for the office, and dressed them up with a silk camisole for date night. I own them in Aspen Blue, but they're also available in a lighter wash. Pro tip: Dynamite recommends sizing down, as they run large. They're currently 50 percent off, too!” —Amy Evans, commerce editorial director
