It goes without saying that a hot drink can lift spirits on a cold winter's day. Whether out on the slopes or shoveling snow, or simply cozying up in front of the fireplace, these warm beverages are guaranteed to keep you toasty. And they taste terrific.

Cider: Nothing says 'aprés ski' like a mug of hot cider toddy waiting for you in the chalet after a few runs down the hill. Fake it, and have one when you come in from shoveling or skating, too.

Mulled wine: This delicious drink shouldn't be reserved for the holidays only. Enjoy it throughout the winter season. Bonus: your home will smell amazing too.

Coffee or tea: Swap out the traditional after-dinner tea and coffee with a warm chai toddy or campfire coffee.

Hot toddy: Feeling under the weather? Hot toddies are considered to be medicinal when you're ridden with the dreaded winter cold and flu.

Hot chocolate: Whip up a specialty batch of Mexican hot chocolate for your friends and family after a round of ice skating. Make it kid-friendly by omitting the liqueur.
