Waffles with raspberries and icing sugar
Chatelaine Triple Tested

We've developed the ultimate waffle recipe! Golden and crisp, they're perfect for a lazy Sunday morning breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour

  • 4 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  • PREHEAT waffle iron.

  • WHISK all-purpose flour with whole-wheat flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl.

  • WHISK eggs and milk in a medium bowl. Add flour to mixture while stirring, until almost combined.

  • STIR in 1/2 cup melted butter until smooth. Be careful not to over mix. Ladle mixture into waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer's directions.

  • SERVE immediately or keep warm in 200F oven.
