1. Enjoy a play in the park

From sonnets under the stars to contemporary theatrical productions, the summer months bring fringe festivals and Shakespearean days back to the outdoors.

Fringe Theatre Festival, London, Ont., June 5-16

Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, Vancouver, June 12-September 14

Fringe Festival, Ottawa, June 20-30

2. Dance at a music festival

Check out some of the nation's finest indie talent, future jazz legends and popular bands at these events around the country. You may just discover a new favourite act.

Boonstock, Gibbons, Alta., June 27-30

Montreal Jazz Fest, Montreal, June 28-July 7

3. Cheer on a cyclist

Tour de Canada, the cross-country ride that hits all 10 provinces, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The cyclists will pump their tires on June 19 in Vancouver and begin their trek to St. John's. Get your sign ready with some words of encouragement!
