Burnished copper, weathered brass and rose gold are just some of the metallics making their way into stylish homes and rooms. Layer these moody metals with other neutral or pared-down finishes and let them take centre stage. If committing to large-scale furniture pieces, painting your walls or wallpapering in metallic seems over the top, start with smaller objects like vases, mirrors and lighting. And don't be afraid to mix up your metallics.

If you found last year's electric-neon colours hard to incorporate, you might find this season's softer versions more appealing. Pair this palette with rustic wood, textured materials or even matte black to ground the colour and keep it from falling into saccharine-sweet territory. Choose light shades with warm undertones to keep the look fresh and airy.
Anchor a muted palette with a calming neutral like silver or charcoal.
In a room full of colour and pattern, let one solid shade dominate. Carry the look into your furniture with charming flea market finds and relaxed vintage pieces.

Boost your energy and mood by layering bold and bright hues. Choose shades on opposite ends of the colour spectrum for a more dramatic approach — or keep it more harmonious with gradient shades found beside each other on the colour wheel, like yellow, orange and red.
No interior colour can cheer you up like yellow. Mix with orange for a fresh floral combination.
Create a focal point in an all-white space by adding in a bright hit (or two) of colour.
Crisp and classic, this powerful duo packs a graphic punch. For the most timeless and sophisticated palette, black and white is the way to go. Ebony-stained floors and fresh white walls are the backbone of this look. Add a burst of colour through accent pillows or accessories.
Using black in a room grounds the space and adds sophistication. Think about playing with different sheens when using a basic colour scheme like black and white. Lacquered walls, glossy trim and matte painted floors are different ways you can achieve this.
