We’ve found the ultimate secret to losing weight and keeping it off (and no, it’s not counting calories or cutting fat). Simply load up on fibre! It’s proven to help you feel full and drop pounds. Plus, after reviewing decades of research, scientists in India found it’s a major all-around health booster. It enhances immunity, protects against heart disease and type 2 diabetes, promotes good digestion and helps your body absorb calcium and even prevent certain cancers.

Game plan: Aim for about 25 g of dietary fibre a day. (Good sources are raspberries, avocados, pears, spinach, other vegetables and whole grains.) Increase your intake over time by steadily adding higher-fibre foods to each meal and snack.
