Toronto-based Sammie Kennedy is a certified personal trainer and creator of Booty Camp Fitness, the largest provider of women-only boot camps in Canada. She consulted on our 'Workout Smarter, not Harder' story for this month's issue. Here, she gives us three more of her fave tips for making the most of your exercise:

1. Do what you love:
If you enjoy it, you'll keep at it, and that's where a healthy (and happy!) relationship with fitness truly begins.

2. Give yourself variety: Find a program or trainer who's willing to change things up for you on a regular basis to keep you interested — and keep your body guessing. It'll give you faster results, tone and define more muscles and prevent your gym sessions from getting stale.

3. Don't forget strength training: When you build up your lean muscle mass, you'll shape up faster, and you'll burn more calories (even when you're not exercising). Plus, lifting weights helps prevent osteoporosis.

See Sammie's suggestions for how to work out smarter, not harder.
