under-fire

Thankfully, I have something to keep my mind off my looming doctor appointments on Monday. My very first article, in print, has finally come out and arrived at my door. And I know that I have Chatelaine.com to thank.

My illness is taking it out of me and I'm finding that just keeping up with daily life is difficult. So much so, that I don't even want to clean.

Today, I went to the doctor and discovered that I have several masses on my thyroid and parathyroid. With that confirmation, I'm definitely scared.

I was sent for a barrage of tests on Friday and I spent the day scared and alone. But Monday, I started my new job at the publishing house, and for a moment, it felt like a new lease on life.

Today, I'm headed to the doctor to figure out what's going on with my thyroid. And I'm nervous, really nervous.
