under-fire

My house hunting trip to Vancouver has begun, and now that I'm here, I find myself suddenly at easy with my decision to move.

Well, my trip is postponed in Calgary since I ended up having to rush to the emergency room. You know, just another trip with Kelly!

My time out west was fantastic. But somehow, on the way home, it didn't quite end up being all that I thought it would be. What was once relaxing was suddenly a reminder that my life is about to change drastically and I'm not quite ready for it.

During my house hunting trip last week, I finally found the apartment that I'm about to call home. And then last night, I realized I only have one more week at home with my family and the people I love.

When you're alone during the holiday season, especially when your spouse is across the world in war, it's hard to muster up some holiday spirit. I'm trying. But it's just not coming.
