Office Wear: Shorts

After my last blog post featuring Chatelaine's Jen O'Brien and Alex Laws I realized I was sitting on a goldmine of fashionable ideas right in my own office! So when I walked past Glow's associate art director Stevie Gorrie in this fab outfit I had to stop her to get a photo. Now, as a rule I don't love shorts because it takes just the right cut and fit to make your legs look a) elongated and not flab-tastic and b) sophisticated. Nothing's worse than that 5-year-old going-off- to-camp look on a grown woman. But Stevie got this look just right. These white shorts hit just above the knee so there's no fear of overexposure and she paired them with a chic black blazer and pointed toe shoes to make the look grown up. (They also double as her golf shorts, but you'd never know it unless she told you!) I love this idea as the new office suit– especially in 40 degree weather. And you could take it straight to the golf course. – Kate Daley
