Style Desk: Fall must-haves under $100

Not many would argue that autumn is Canada’s prime fashion season. And with the bible-thick fall magazines having already landed and a chill settling in the air, it’s official: It’s time to shop. Here, our top-10 list of under-$100, energize-your-wardrobe buys

Style Desk: Fall must-haves under $100
1. Spectator shoes.

There are so many irresistible heels out there this fall. We love the traditional-with-a-twist look of these. Wear them with both trousers and skirts.
Joe Fresh, $29.

2. Bow-neck blouse.

This revisited style will add grownup sass to your jeans or an upper-East Side formality to your pencil skirtsuit.
Joe Fresh, $24.

3. Tartan blazer.

Mix this one with your black trousers (or skinny pencil skirt, as shown) through the work week, then throw it on with your chinos and a chunky knit scarf on the weekend. Winners, $90.

4. Tights.

Opaque tights in dark, jewel-tone colours, such as garnet, plum, chocolate or indigo, will instantly update last year’s little black dresses or skirts.
Secret, $8.95 each.

5. Perfume.

What would fall be without a waft of perfume lingering on your new sweater, scarf or gloves? Try Jo Malone’s new Sweet Lime and Cedar spritz. It’s zesty, spicy and sexy, and perfect to wear in front of an autumn hearth.
$70 (30 mL).

6. Evening bag.

Clutch purses, in their neat minimalism, are not always the best day option for those of us who schlep too much back and forth from the office. For night, however, it’s a completely different story. This one in velvet with the season’s signature bow detailing, is a knockout.
Jeanne Lottie, $75.

7. Grey pearls.

I can’t resist the South Sea chicness of these glossy beads. Wear them with almost anything to put elegance into your everyday outfits.
The Bay, $75.

8. A navy knit.

We’re smitten by the ladylike grosgrain ribbon on this preppy blue cardigan. It’s simple but timeless and sweet, too.
Roots, $48

9. Gloves.

Against a neutral-coloured coat or jacket, brilliantly coloured gloves pop. Go as demure or daring as you like.
Aldo Accessories, $25.

10. A cozy poncho.

Grey rules this fall and this chunky turtleneck poncho will help you weather the in-between weather in style.
H&M, $70.
