If you’ve been on the Internet this past week, you’ve probably heard rumblings that Esprit—the beloved ’80s and ’90s mall brand that closed its North American stores in 2012—launched a collection of now-sold-out fleeces at American Costcos, turning Gen Xers and millennials absolutely feral.
The message is loud and clear: we’re nostalgic for the brand’s easy basics and comfy sportswear, which were synonymous with bold colours and relaxed silhouettes for much of our formative years. Good news if you’ve been suffering from major FOMO: Canada is getting its own Esprit comeback via a super affordable Walmart collection.
The collection includes sweatshirts and tees emblazoned with the brand’s iconic stencil logo, knitwear, casual denim and wide-leg sweatpants in bright primary hues—all under $40. It’s available now in sizes XS to XXL, online and in-stores. If you’re hoping to indulge in some nostalgia-tinged retail therapy, don’t wait too long—if the Costco frenzy is anything to go by, the collection will fly off shelves.

This cobalt blue crewneck is cute and comfy, with an embroidered logo.

With its rainbow logo, this slightly cropped tee is as classic as it gets.

This striped sweater calls back to the brand’s multi-coloured vintage logo.
