Cream Cheese Pops


 
Prep time: 10 minutes
Freezing time: 3 to 4 hours
Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients
Basic recipe
1 package (250 g) Canadian
Cream Cheese, softened
2 cups (500 mL) milk
1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract

Preparation
1. In a blender, blend Cream Cheese, milk, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
2. Pour into a frozen pop mould or glasses and insert a stick in the centre of each pop. Freeze for 3 to 4 hours. For easy unmoulding, dip mould or glasses into hot water for 1 minute before pulling out pops by the sticks.
3. Serve as dessert or a healthy snack.

Variation:
There are lots of ways to vary these frozen pops. Let your imagination go and get inspiration from the chart below.

  Cheese Liquid Sweetener Fruit or nuts Extract or spices
Maple Walnut 1 pkg (250 g) Cream Cheese, softened 2 cups (500 mL) milk 1/4 cup (50 mL) maple syrup or sugar 1/3 cup (75 mL) ground walnuts 1 tsp (5 mL) maple flavouring
Raspberry Orange 1 pkg (250 g) Cream Cheese, softened 1 cup (250 mL) milk
1 cup (250 mL) orange juice
1/4 cup (50 mL) honey 2/3 cup (150 mL) crushed raspberries 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
Spiced Coffee 1 pkg (250 g) Cream Cheese, softened 1 cup (250 mL) milk
1 cup (250 mL) cold coffee
1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar   1/2 tsp (2 mL) cinnamon
Choco-banana 1 pkg (250 g) Cream Cheese, softened 2 cups (500 mL) chocolate milk 1/4 cup (50 mL) brown sugar 2/3 cup (150 mL) mashed bananas
