Russian-inspired recipes

Borscht

Borscht is one of the most well-known Russian dishes, and we're sharing an updated recipe that includes apple for a sweet tang! This chilled beet and apple soup is not only delicious, but also gorgeous with a sour cream swirl.

Beef stroganoff

Beef stroganoff is a traditional Russian dish of sautéed beef that has been popular since the mid-19th century! For our modern beef stroganoff, we substituted in 35% cream for the sour cream and served it over egg noodles.

Cabbage rolls

Cabbage rolls are a staple dish in Russia and other Eastern European countries. They are often filled with a variety of ingredients including meat, vegetables and/or grains. We stuffed our healthy variation with barley and ricotta.

Caviar

Russian caviar is considered to be one of the finest available in the world. This delicacy is best used in small quantities, and we're using it here to top soft and creamy eggs for a special breakfast treat.

Vodka

When I think of Russian cocktails, I think of vodka. This Sublime Russian cocktail comes to us by way of the Loews Hotel Vogue Montreal, created specially for the Sochi Olympic Games. A spin on the classic Moscow Mule cocktail, this Russian-vodka beverage is served in classic copper mugs.
