For most of you home cooks out there, there’s probably one kitchen tool that you can’t or wouldn’t want to live without.  There are so many fancy electronic kitchen gadgets available now, I wanted find out from our kitchen team their preferred simple tool.

What is triple-tested? Our Food Team creates, develops and tests every recipe at least three times (sometimes more!) to make sure it’s delicious and foolproof. We also make sure it’s easy to follow and shop for. Our professional testers weigh all the ingredients for nutritional analysis, verify how long it takes to prep and cook each recipe and check if it can be made ahead. We re-taste and adjust as needed. If you're like me, then one of your favourite things about the holidays is the FOOD.  This is a time for indulgence - where we get to throw diets out the window (for a day or two at least!) and put on our most comfortable pair of (stretchy) pants in anticipation of the happy, drowsy, drunk-on-tryptophan post-Thanksgiving dinner feeling.

Can you believe it -- it's Second Cup's 35 anniversary. In honour of the milestone, Alex and I went to a tasting session called a “cupping” held by Second Cup’s coffee expert Patrick Russell.

Fall is synonymous with apple picking for a lot of Canadians. Now is the time we start to see Canadian apple varieties creeping into grocery stores all across the country.
