Salmon satays

Ingredients

  • 6 small skewers

  • 1/2 lemon

  • 2 tbsp plum sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 1/2 tsp bottled minced ginger, or 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

  • 1 tsp bottled chopped garlic, or 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 250 g skinless salmon fillet, 1/2 in. thick

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

  • Position oven rack in top third of oven. Preheat broiler. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Squeeze 2 tsp (10 mL) juice from lemon into a small bowl. Stir in plum and oyster sauces, ginger and garlic.

  • Slice salmon lengthwise into 6 strips. Thread onto skewers. Brush sauce over both sides of salmon. Place skewers on prepared sheet. Broil 2 minutes. Turn hot skewers carefully. Continue broiling until fish is glazed, 2 to 3 more minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
