Chocolate-mandarin mascarpone tartlets

Chatelaine Triple Tested

Ingredients

  • 6 3-inch frozen tart shells

  • 1/2 cup mascarpone

  • 3 tbsp 35% cream

  • 2 tsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp orange zest

  • 2 tbsp finely chopped dark chocolate

  • 1/3 cup jarred or canned, and drained mandarin orange segments, about 12

  • shaved chocolate

Instructions

  • Bake tart shells according to package directions. Stir mascarpone with cream and sugar in a medium bowl. Add zest and chocolate until combined. Spoon filling into cool baked tart shells. Arrange mandarin segments on top of mascarpone mixture. Garnish with chocolate shavings.

Miniature tarts with zesty creamy filling and dark chocolate, topped with fresh mandarin. Yum.

Shopping Tip:

Mandarins packaged in plastic containers are far tastier than the ones in a tin.
