March 17 marks the anniversary of the death of St. Patrick, who brought Christianity to Ireland and became its patron saint. St. Paddy's Day used to mean all the pubs in Ireland were closed for the religious holiday, but things are whole lot different now. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Irish-Canadians (and anyone else who wants to join the fun) celebrate with parades, festivals, and – let's be honest – a few good pints.
