It takes 10,000 Canadian voters and a jury of experts to select the final 33 winning products for the annual competition. Of these items, here are five that stood out.

Winner: best kitchenware product

Why it’s so great: It’s the first front-loading blender and it’s low height means it’s easy to store.

Why it’s so great: It measures water quality and lets you know when to change the filter. Plus, it’s easy on the eyes.

Winner: best nail polish

Why it’s so great: There are so many shades (47 to be exact) and it’s part traditional polish and part gel polish. The good news: no UV light is needed for drying.

Why it’s so great: It’s spiked with Moroccan argan oil and dries super quickly, which helps prevent clumpy lashes.
