Elisha Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf
Calgary-born Hollywood sweetheart Elisha Cuthbert (best known for her lead roles on The Girl Next Door and Happy Endings) got engaged to Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman and captain Dion Phaneuf in 2008 after breaking it off with the Dallas Stars’ Sean Avery. Cuthbert and Phaneuf wed in July 2013 at Saint James Catholic Church in Summerville, Prince Edward Island, where the venue was decked out in maple saplings as a tribute to the groom’s team.
Keshia Chanté and Ray Emery
The pure-bred Canadian duo — Chanté from Ottawa and Emery from Hamilton, Ontario – became an item in 2010. Chanté is a pop singer best known for her hit singles “Unpredictable” and “Shook (The Answer)” and is now a co-host on BET’s 106 & Park. Emery is a goalie for the Philadelphia Flyers and previously played for the Ottawa Senators, Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks.
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie
You may remember this actress/singer as the teenage star of Disney’s hit TV show Lizzie McGuire and won the hearts of Canucks with her marriage to retired Edmonton-born NHL veteran Mike. They met at a resort in Idaho and wed in 2010 at the Mediterranean Villa La Quinta in Santa Barbara, California. Unfortunately, they uncoupled earlier this year, but will continue to co-parent their one-year old son, Luca.
Erin Andrews and Jarret Stoll
You’ve seen Andrews grace the Fox sportscast and Saskatchewan-born Stoll steal the puck as a center for the Los Angeles Kings. The American TV personality met Stoll through mutual friend Michael Strahan, Kelly Ripa’s talk show co-star and a former New York Giants football defensive. They’ve been together since 2012.
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Country-pop singer Carrie Underwood wooed Ontarian beau Mike Fisher at one of her concerts in 2008, where they got engaged a year later. It’s fitting that the hockey hunk was traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators in 2011, since his wife (who he wed at the Ritz Carlton Lodge on a plantation in George in 2010), is a southern belle from Oklahoma.
Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich
Hough is an American professional ballroom dancer on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars who announced her budding romance with Laich this February – a few months after her three-year relationship with TV personality Ryan Seacrest. A mutual friend introduced Hough to Laich (a Saskatonian forward and assistant captain for the Washington Capitals) on set of the film “Curve”.
Aleksandra Wozniak and Louis Leblanc
One of the highest ranked Canadian singles players of all time, Wozniak joined romantic forces with Louis Leblanc of the Anaheim ducks sometime last year. Both Montreal natives, Wozniak is a five-time Tennis Canada’s Best Female of the Year recipient and Leblanc was named Ivy League rookie of the year when he attended Harvard in 2010.
Janet Jones and Wayne Gretzky
While the former NHL player dubbed “The Great One” retired in 1999, he’s one of hockey’s most notable playes. Born and raised in Brantford, Ontario, he’s played for the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, and The New York Rangers, to name a few. He met his wife Janet Jones, a Missouri-born Playboy model and actress, as a judge on the TV series Dance Fever in 1984. Their extravagant Edmonton wedding in 1988 was nicknamed “The Royal Wedding.”

Upshall, a right winger on the Florida Panthers, hails from Fort Murray, Alberta. He began dating the Californian party girl-turned-sports reporter Melanie Collins in 2009. A former bikini model and NBA and E! News Now reporter, she currently broadcasts for Yahoo! Sports and CBS.
Marie-Pier Morin and Brandon Prust
The French Canadian model on Quebec’s Deal or No Deal teamed up with Montreal Canadiens’ forward Prust when he was a New York Ranger’s left wing in 2010.
