Never underestimate the power of love—or the determination of the pop ballad’s greatest interpreter, Celine Dion.
On March 30, the Charlemagne, Que.-born singer confirmed the rumours: she's back. In an Instagram post timed to celebrate her 58th birthday, the singer told her more than 11 million followers that she's feeling good, so good that she will perform 10 concerts in France this fall at Paris La Défense Arena.
"I'm getting the best gift of my life. I'm getting the chance to perform for you again," the singer told fans. "Happy Birthday to me. I love you all, and see you soon."
The concerts will take place from Sept. 12 to Oct. 14.
It’s welcome news after the singer, who has been performing since age 12, was forced to step away from touring in 2022 after her diagnosis with Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological condition.
SPS is an autoimmune disease that causes progressive muscle stiffness and involuntary spasms. Dion’s significant struggles with the disease were chronicled in the 2024 documentary, I Am: Celine Dion.
The Order of Canada recipient has done her fair share to amp up excitement for the her rumoured return to regular performing. On Instagram last week, Dion playfully posted a carousel of photos of herself in the City of Love over the years.
“Je sais pas comment te dire…” she captioned the post, which translates to “I don’t know how to tell you…” in English.
Pre-sales begin April 7 and registration on her website began March 30 and runs to April 2.
