While Fifty Shades of Grey and e-readers are largely credited with the, ahem, rise in popularity of erotic fiction, there’s a whole spectrum out there just waiting to be discovered. “We’ve never seen so many erotica books among our bestsellers,” says Bahram Olfati, VP of Indigo Books & Music. Here’s our faves and what they have in common:

Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James

Sweet Addiction by Maya Banks

Monsieur by Emma Becker (Available in November 2012)

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice as A.N. Roquelaure

Peyton Place by Grace Metalious

Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews

Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence

Fanny Hill by John Cleland
