As a hot sleeper, finding the right sheets has always been a challenge, but the Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheets have truly impressed me. This is my first experience with linen sheets, and I absolutely love them. They're made from 100 percent linen, with thicker threads and looser weave that allow for airflow and keep me cool at night.
When I first got them, the sheets had a crisp, scratchy texture, but they’ve become wonderfully soft after a few washes. The linen texture may not be for everyone, but if you appreciate a cooling feel, these sheets are worth the investment. (This set includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, pillowcases and a duvet cover.)
I also love that they're certified by Oeko-Tex, meaning that they’re produced without added chemicals or dyes. —Sun Ngo, creative director
Minimalist Canadian jewelry brand Mejuri is having its biggest-ever Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale: 25% off everything with a minimum $150 spend until December 2. I bought these earrings after spotting them on an extremely stylish friend. Our EIC then bought a pair of her own after seeing mine. They’re the perfect studs; both of us almost never take them off. They manage to be both slightly edgy and also understated. —Gillian Grace, deputy digital editor
I wear contacts, bike to work and rub my eyes a lot—meaning I need a mascara that stays put with no smudges. Gigablack never gives me raccoon eyes; I also love that it goes on totally clump free. It's the mascara I reach for daily. Note: to access this sale early you have to register a profile with M.A.C. —G.G.
I love lattes but dislike the extra work that comes with pulling shots and frothing milk. The Delonghi Magnifica automatic espresso machine saves time with seven one-touch recipes and presets for perfectly delicate foam (heads-up, you’ll need to work to keep the nozzle clean). It’s pricey, but worth it if you make a couple of coffees a day—and it makes a perfect cup every time. —S.N
We love the Vancouver-founded, planet-friendly cleaning brand Nellie’s here at Chatelaine. This is a great deal on a refillable tin of the brand’s hero laundry soda, which does an excellent job of making your laundry fresh and clean while reducing its impact on the environment. It’s all part of the brand’s big Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, which starts on November 28 for email subscribers. The public sale starts the next day and features up to 60% off everything (excluding bundles and subscriptions). —G.G.
I’ve owned my Vitamix for more than a decade and have blasted what seems like a bazillion smoothies and salad dressings in it. I wholeheartedly recommend Vitamix over every other blender I’ve tried. This certified refurbished model, further reduced for Cyber Monday, rings in at nearly half the cost of brand new. —M.H.
The Echo Pop is on my holiday wish list thanks to the endorsement of deputy features editor (and Chatelaine resident tech expert) Erica Lenti. She uses it as an alarm clock instead of reaching for her phone first thing in the morning, and I’d like to do the same. I‘m also excited to use it to stream CBC Radio while I'm getting ready in my bedroom in the morning. —M.H.
The Canadian footwear brand Poppy Barley is a Chatelaine staff favourite. Their shoes and boots are incredibly well made—and incredibly comfortable. I’ve been wearing these sleekly minimalist cowboy boots nonstop all fall, with everything from jorts to skirts to a slip dress. Our style and beauty editor also has a pair, also in black, and raves about how walkable and cute they are. (Be sure to size up half a size, they fit a bit small!) Poppy Barley’s sale runs from November 24 and sees leather boots, flats, cashmere and cotton knitwear and handbags marked 10% to 35% off. —G.G.
We would be remiss not to mention our own Cyber Monday sale on one-year print subscriptions!

This sleek, single-serve espresso machine is ideal for beginner baristas and seasoned shot pullers alike. It’s easy to set up, easy to clean and heats up fast, allowing you to make several coffees in a row. The size is right, too: Its narrow width is countertop-friendly. You will, however, have to grind your own beans.—Chantal Braganza, deputy food editor
I use my Apple Watch on bike rides to track my workout and route, but a devoted cyclist friend recommends this bike computer, which has a battery life of up to 26 hours and tracks your power, cadence, and distance while guiding you (almost) anywhere you want to go. —G.G.
I spend a lot of time outside walking my dog in the winter and need boots that are both warm and walkable. These sturdy winter hiking boots from Keen fit the bill and keep my feet toasty and dry on Toronto’s slushy sidewalks. Plus they’re much more comfortable than my last pair of (extremely clunky) snow boots. Keen’s sale includes 25% off sitewide and 40% off select styles. —G.G.
I live in an old house with lath and plaster walls. Over the years I have hung a bunch of wall art using these velcro-like strips, which I recently had to remove because of a renovation—and they came off perfectly with zero damage. They’re also quite forgiving when it comes to straightening out frames after they’re hung (they’re incredibly grippy even if they aren’t placed over one another perfectly). —M.H.
I usually favour labour-intensive DIY coffee, but this semi-auto machine has won me over with the perfect mix of assisted and manual controls for grinding, tamping espresso and pulling perfect Italian-style shots. It also helps that it’s beautiful and compact. —Colleen Nicholson, friend of Chatelaine
