We Turned A Teeny Deck Into A Party-Worthy Retreat For Under $300 — Here’s How

Do you love outdoor entertaining, but have a small deck? Fear not — with minimal work, even the teeniest of backyard areas can become party-worthy retreats. In this episode of The Home Primp, Chatelaine Home Editor Alexandra Gater turns a small outdoor space into the perfect entertaining spot.
The challenge:
Wanting to maximize their yard space, the homeowners tore down a back mudroom, and put in a small deck. They wanted a place to have coffee in the mornings and a space for their two boys to play. And since they have a yard with an outdoor dining set (that was too big to fit on the deck itself), Gater thought this would be a great place to serve food and drinks when the couple was hosting dinner parties.
How we primped it:
After giving the brick a much-needed coat of paint, Gater was left with a beautiful modern space to work with. A double-duty bench, art wall for the boys and bar cart (that can be used inside, too!) create the perfect functional outdoor space. Bistro lights and an outdoor rug make it extra cozy.
