A new link between HPV and heart disease

It's well known that HPV (human papilloma virus) causes cervical cancer. Now, new research published by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology shows it may lead to heart attacks and strokes, too.

It's well known that HPV (human papilloma virus) causes cervical cancer. Now, new research published by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology shows it may lead to heart attacks and strokes, too. A study of 2,500 women found those with the virus were two to three times more likely than unaffected women to have had a heart attack or stroke. Researchers aren't sure what the connection is between the virus and cardiovascular disease.
