Although it may sound counter-intuitive, watching a tear-jerker may actually lift your spirits. New research from the U.S. suggests watching sad movies can make you happier. Because these flicks are actually based on themes of love, they "make people think about their close relationships — which generally contribute most to personal happiness," says lead author Silvia Knobloch-Westerwick. Titanic, anyone?
