1. The Elliptigo

If your knees hurt: The Elliptigo – part stand-up bike and part elliptical trainer – lets you “run” outdoors without the pounding. There’s no special skill required, and most people catch on to the rhythm and balance aspect within seconds. It’s the perfect antidote for long-time runners with achy joints and people who want to take the gym outdoors.

Saucony Protection Glove

If it’s too dark: Saucony’s reflective mitts each have a small LED bulb that lights up the road as you run or walk plus a slot pocket to carry a key or money. Once your hands are warm, roll the mitt coverings back (stash them in the self pocket) and they magically become gloves. Runny nose? There’s a plush nose wipe on the thumb.

Doberman SE-0307 Jogger Alarm

If you don’t have a buddy: Of course, you should only exercise outdoors when you  feel safe, but a little extra security is always a good thing.  Press the button on The Jogger Alarm, a personal alarm that’s worn on your arm, and it emits a loud 105-decibel alarm and flashes a far-reaching light that’s sure to draw plenty of attention.

Softec Elite ice skates

If it’s too cold: You’ll enjoy toasty-warm feet wearing Softec “soft boot” ice skates. They’re fully lined with cushy foam padding, and a layer of Thinsulate® provides even more warmth. And because there’s no leather to break in, they’re comfortable from day one.
