Dig into this: Hummus could be the key to a trimmer waistline, reveals a new study in the Journal of Nutrition & Food Sciences. Researchers reviewed the diets of people who ate hummus over a seven-year period and discovered they also tended to eat more fibre and healthy polyunsaturated fats and less sugar and overall fat than people who didn’t enjoy the Middle Eastern spread. Even more interesting: The waist sizes of hummus lovers were on average two inches smaller than those who avoided the dip. Sounds like a slam dunk to us!
