Winter in Canada means snow and freezing temps—and Tim Hortons’ “Roll Up The Rim.”
The Canadian coffee chain’s iconic contest returns on February 23 for its 40th anniversary. So what’s new in the 2026 version? The company has confirmed that classic physical cups are here to stay.
In 2020, Tims retired prizes on the rims of hot beverage cups in favour of a digital format renamed “Roll Up To Win,” mainly due to pandemic health concerns. “Roll Up The Rim” in its physical format returned last spring to much fanfare—yes, even if those rims are notoriously hard to unfurl.
“We were reminded how important this iconic Tims tradition is for our guests,” president Axel Schwan said in a press release, noting that the physical cups will stay “for years to come.”
And for those who prefer the digital format (especially if you want to reduce the number of disposable cups in the landfill), fear not: you can still roll up on the Tim Hortons app, too.
This year, there are more than 30 million prizes to be won—ranging from free Tims coffees (there are 17 million to be won!) and donuts to Volkswagen EV buses and all-inclusive vacations.
The contest runs through March 22. Happy rolling!
