When traditional fabrics like plaids, checks and tartans start to appear, it's a sure sign of fall. Get on board by mixing and matching plenty of patterns, and pair with chunky knits, preppy touches and wellies (of course.)

The newest nine-to-five looks work beyond the boardroom. Luxe fabrics like tweed, textured wool and touches of leather add polish to these feminine pieces with sleek silhouettes.

Sophisticated menswear styling is dominating the runways, but it doesn’t have to be all business. Mix in feminine layers with handsome accessories, and take your cue from the colour of the season: grey.

Designers can be a nostalgic bunch, and this season they're taking us back to the early '60s (the more conservative part of that decade). Matching coats and sleeveless dresses make a comeback, as do short-but-not-micro hemlines. Finish the look with knee-high boots and a box bag.
